* Russian forces have likely seized the center of the fiercely contested city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine and are threatening a key supply route for Ukrainian forces to the west, British intelligence said.
In a statement, she said: “Ofcom has shown the UK public, and the regulatory community internationally, that, despite a well-constructed facade of independence, it is nothing more than a tool of government, bending to its media-suppressing will.
“We want Estonia to be protected, the well-being and livelihood of our people to be guaranteed, the state´s finances to be in order, education, language and best math programs culture to be preserved, and tomorrow to be better for everyone,” she said.
* Russia threatened to bypass a U.N.-brokered grain deal unless obstacles to its agricultural exports were removed, while talks in Turkey agreed removing barriers was needed to extend the agreement beyond next month.
In Sunday’s final, Carballes Baena — who has one ATP tourney win, the Ecuador Open in February 2018 — will take on Alexandre Muller.
The Frenchman defeated Pavel Kotov of Russia 7-6 (3), 7-5. Muller has yet to win on the ATP Tour.
It’s been a long road, and the image marks a triumphant milestone. “More than 20 years ago, the Webb team set out to build the most powerful telescope that anyone has ever put in space and came up with an audacious optical design to meet demanding science goals,” said Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate. “Today we can say that design is going to deliver.”
Both players held serve throughout the third set until the tiebreaker, when Ruud went up 3-0 by breaking Halys twice. Ruud won one of the next two points on his serve to go up 4-1.
Halys held serve to pull within 4-2, but Ruud broke his serve again and served out the match.
* Ukraine’s First Deputy Foreign Minister Emine Dzhaparova is due to visit India on Monday and will seek humanitarian aid and equipment to repair energy infrastructure damaged during Russia’s invasion, the Hindu newspaper reported on Saturday.
The star itself is beautiful to look at, but a highlight of the new image is the background and the array of galaxies and stars that appear there. It’s a testament to the telescope’s sensitivity that it can see so much in just this test image.
Webb is a complex beast. It uses 18 hexagonal mirror segments that had to be folded up for launch and then unfolded and aligned in space. We’ve been following the process and seeing increasingly sharper and more focused views of the telescope’s target star leading up to this week’s image release.
Moscow has not concealed a programme under which it has brought thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia from occupied areas, but presents this it as a humanitarian campaign to protect orphans and children abandoned in the conflict zone.
The group helped the Ukrainian relatives of children who had been taken to Russia with the logistics, transport and planning needed to embark on the long journey to fetch their children and bring them back.
A grandmother who had been due to reunite with two of her grandchildren died suddenly on the trip and the children had to remain in Russia, Kuleba, Ukraine’s former commissioner for children’s rights, told a media briefing in Kyiv.
KYIV, April 8 (Reuters) – More than 30 children were reunited with their families in Ukraine this week after a long operation to bring them back from Russia, where they had been taken from occupied areas during the war, a humanitarian group said on Saturday.
The Webb team will take the telescope through more alignment steps over the next six weeks. The observatory will then go through a two-month process of preparing its science instruments before it’s ready to tackle its mission in earnest. If all continues to go well, we could see Webb’s first full-resolution imagery this summer.
“Now the fifth rescue mission is nearing its completion. It was special regarding the number of children we managed to return and also because of its complexity,” said Mykola Kuleba, the founder of the Save Ukraine humanitarian organisation.
NASA’s Thomas Zurbuchen delivered a key message about the James Webb Space Telescope on Wednesday: It’s going to deliver on its promise to see the universe in unprecedented depth and detail. Webb is already sending back proof of its prowess with a new alignment evaluation image that shows a gleaming star against a background of galaxies.
TALLINN, Estonia (AP) – Estonia´s Prime Minister Kaja Kallas said Saturday that her center-right Reform Party has clinched a deal with two other parties to form a coalition government, five weeks after a general election in the Baltic country.
The International Criminal Court last month issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russia’s children’s rights commissioner, Maria Lvova-Belova, accusing them of abducting children from Ukraine.
“By ignoring RT’s completely clean record of four consecutive years and stating purely political reasons tied directly to the situation in Ukraine and yet completely unassociated to RT’s operations, structure, management or editorial output, Ofcom has falsely judged RT to not be ‘fit and proper’ and in doing so robbed the UK public of access to information.”
